Northumberland Telecare Public Consultation

Overview

We are proposing changes to the Northumberland Telecare Service with the desired outcome being the development of a fair and equitable service offer for all residents who use the service. A service that is sustainable, fit for purpose, and operating at net zero cost to the Council.

We are seeking views from those who currently use the service and other residents and stakeholders on the proposed changes which include:

  • Introduce service charges that reflect and recover the cost of delivering the service.
  • To cease the Mobile Warden Response Service in what was the old Blyth Valley locality.
  • Providing Telecare on a monitoring only basis countywide.
  • Implement an installation charge where equipment is fitted by our Warden Team.

You can read more about why we’re consulting and the proposals here.

You do not need to currently be using the Telecare service to have your say.
The consultation closes on Friday 17 April 2026.
