Northumberland County Council Budget and Corporate Plan Consultation

Closed 17 Jan 2023

Opened 6 Dec 2022

Overview

Introduction

Each year the council must set a balanced budget, which sets out funding for its services as well as its plans for investing. The budget must also take account of new cost-pressures as well as making sure all its services are as efficient as possible.  The Council’s budget setting process is happening now.  At the same time, we are also refreshing the Council’s Corporate Plan.  The Corporate Plan sets out the Council’s key priorities and shapes how services will be delivered and, performance and improvement measured.

It is important that we consider your views on both the budget and Corporate Plan because the Council exists to serve you and your communities.  From Tuesday December 6th until the 17th January 2023 you can give your views on a wide range of budget and Council service issues in this online questionnaire.

As part of the consultation the council is also planning an online event in the New Year where residents can ask the leader of the council questions around its services and the budget.  Look out for details of this on the Council’s Web Home Page.

This consultation runs for six weeks until 17th January 2023, with the Budget due to go before Full Council in February 2023 and a refreshed Corporate Plan due to go to Full Council in March.
