Bridge Street Improvements 'The Link'
Overview
As part of the £70m Energising Blyth regeneration proposals, Northumberland County Council (NCC) has secured funding through the Future High Street Fund and Town Deal to revitalise Blyth Town Centre and transform the wider area.
The proposed Bridge Street Improvements ('The Link') project part is of the Energising Blyth proposals. This consultation gives the local community and businesses the opportunity to comment on the development.
The proposals include new lighting, paving, street furniture, and greenery to make Bridge Street a welcoming gateway into the town with a similar look and feel to the recent improvements on Bowes Street. A new dedicated cycle path and traffic calming will be introduced at key crossing points between the Market Place and the roundabout to the East of Bridge Street making the area safer for all while still maintaining access for a range of vehicles including buses and taxis.
