Energising Blyth: Blyth Town Centre Car Park Study

Closes 6 Apr 2025

Opened 20 Mar 2025

Overview

Northumberland County Council (NCC) is currently contacting local property owners and businesses in Blyth to obtain some key information to support the regeneration proposals for Blyth Town Centre.

NCC are proposing a combined package of approximately £95m for the regeneration of Blyth town centre which includes a number of planned schemes and changes to sites, some of which are already complete or under construction, and could impact the town’s parking needs over time, including existing and future parking demand.

NCC is keen to understand the existing and future car park requirements for your business. This information is key to inform a car park study that NCC are currently undertaking in the local vicinity, to gain a greater understanding of existing supply and demand of parking. The aim of this study is to ensure that future parking facilities in Blyth are appropriately aligned to the future regeneration proposals of the area, whilst providing an environment that is accessible by sustainable modes of transport in addition to private vehicles, ensuring that Blyth is a welcoming and thriving town centre for all to enjoy.

Independent Car Parking surveys have already been conducted for analysis. As part of a wider stakeholder engagement process, we therefore invite you to answer some brief questions to share information on your current and future (if possible) car park requirements, in addition to any views / comments you wish to share on the existing parking facilities in Blyth.
