Overview

Sign up for the Northumberland Youth Voice on Climate Change event.

Northumberland County Councils Climate Action Plan 2021-23 is about to expire and development of the Climate Action Plan for 2024-26 is commencing.

With this comes an opportunity to capture the voice of our young people, who will be living with the effects of climate change for so many years to come and have a very different perspective on what priorities the Council should include in the plan.

Northumberland County Council’s Climate and Education Teams are coming together to hold the Northumberland Youth Voice on Climate Change event and Climate Change Workshop for young people in our Council chambers and conference rooms at County Hall Morpeth on Monday 11th December 2023 from 9:45am to 3:00pm.

We know that there is a lot of great work occurring in schools on the climate change agenda with most schools having a staff lead/champion for climate change and also some very informed and passionate young people on this subject.

We are inviting every secondary school in Northumberland to send up to four pupils, with an accompanying teacher, to represent their schools at this event. Pupils should be from years 10 to 13.

Please sign up now and leave your details in the following fields.

Why your views matter

Your views matter as we believe that young people accross northumberland should be represented in the climate change action Northumberland County Council is taking, coordinating this action via our school settings is the most powerful way for us to do this together.
