Social care charges
Your general views about social care charging
We know that some people will have strong views about whether it would be right for the council to increase charges at all, or about whether the council's current charging policy is fair. The questions in this section are about those issues. Councillors will consider carefully what people say here before deciding whether to go ahead with the proposal tto increase charges as part of its budget plans.
Even if you tell us you don't think the council should be increasing charges at all, please don't just answer the general questions below. We would still like to know what you think would be the fairest way to change the policy if the council does decide that that is necessary.
This consultation is mainly about the changes to our policy that we are proposing because of the need to make savings. But if there is anything in the council's current policy which you think we should change, please tell us.
The council's current charging policy is available on the internet[1], and we also publish a number of information sheets about the policy[2]. The reports that the council considered when it last reviewed the whole policy are also available online[3].
