Future of the Former Ponteland High School Playing Fields
Overview
Northumberland County Council and Ponteland United Football Club are seeking the views of residents, community groups, local organisations and stakeholders on proposals for the future of the former Ponteland High School Playing Fields.
The site has historically provided valuable space for sport, recreation and community activity. Future proposals seek to retain the site as accessible community and recreational space while exploring opportunities to secure investment that could improve facilities, accessibility, safety, sustainability and the overall quality of the site for current and future users.
Public Open Event to learn more about the project will held Saturday 14th November 2026 @ Ponteland Sports and Community Hub, Ponteland Community Primary School, Callerton Lane from 11.00am - 1.00pm

-
The importance of retaining the site for community, sporting and recreational use.
-
Potential investment priorities for the site.
-
The principle of a Community Asset Transfer as a means of securing future investment and management.
-
