Energising Blyth
This project is part of the £95m Energising Blyth Regeneration Programme to grow, renew and connect the town. The programme is delivered by Northumberland County Council with funding support from UK Government, Northumberland County Council and the North East Combined Authority.
This project
Northumberland County Council is bringing forward proposals for the Bebside Station to Town Centre Active Travel Corridor as part of wider investment in transport and public spaces across Blyth.
The scheme aims to improve connections between Bebside Station and Blyth Town Centre by creating safer, more accessible and more attractive routes for walking, wheeling and cycling. The proposals are intended to support everyday journeys, including access to jobs, schools, public transport and local services.
This consultation provides an opportunity for residents, businesses, stakeholders and other interested parties to review the latest proposals and provide feedback before the scheme progresses further.
The proposals aim to:
- Provide wider footways and dedicated space for cycling to make everyday journeys safer and more comfortable, including access to jobs and safer routes to school
- Create safer, more visible crossing points so people can move around with confidence
- Improve local streets with better lighting, drainage and upgraded public spaces
We welcome your feedback on the proposals and encourage you to review the scheme information and drawings for each section before answering the questions.
